5 guys fishing last week as one had to drop out at short notice unfortunately. Two from Hampshire, two from South Wales, and one from Surrey. A brilliant week in both quantity and weights, and this is the sort of week that has the potential to aspire to when you visit Lac Les Pins. Superb fishing. Weather raining most of the time. 37 carp totalling 1,510 lb's, with an average weight of 41lb .- 65lb 8oz - Stuark Hobkirk - 62lb - Michael Cleaver - 60lb - Eric Chan-Pensley - 59lb 3oz - Gigs Damianou - 59lb - Eric Chan-Pensley - 57lb - Michael Cleaver - 56lb 10oz - Gigs Damianou - 56lb - Eric Chan-Pensley - 54lb - Stuart Hobkirk - 53lb - Stuart Hobkirk - 51lb 8oz - Michael Cleaver - 50lb - Eric Chan-Pensley - 48lb - Stuart Hobkirk, 45lb - Stuart Hobkirk, 44lb - Stuart Hobkirk, 44lb - Michael Cleaver, 44lb - Eric Chan-Pensley, 43lb - Eric Chan-Pensley, 43lb - Stuart Hobkirk, 42lb - Mark Buttigieg, 42lb - Stuart Hobkirk, 40lb - Eric Chan-Pensley - Also - 39lb x 2, 38lb, 36lb, 34lb7oz, 34lb, 32lb x 5 - And - 27lb, 26lb 4oz - Plus 16lb.

Another 6 anglers this week. Martin Smith stayed another week along with 2 from Hertfordshire, 2 from Oxford, and 1 from Warwick. Martin is glad he stayed because he had a much better week than last, and along with Matt Smith, produced the majority of the carp. A slow week for the others, but again great weights. Beautiful sunshine for the entire time except for just as we were going to have our weekly barbecue, then down came the rain - typical. Still really enjoyed the meal, and the great banter between us all. Good to see some 60's coming out now. 29 carp caught totalling 1,254lb's, and another great average weight of 43lb - 63lb 12oz - Steve Malone - 60lb - Matt Smith - 58lb 8oz - Martin Smith - 58lb - Matt Smith - 56lb 8oz - Martin Smith - 52lb - Martin Smith - 51lb 8oz - Matt Smith - 49lb 12oz - Jeff Cook, 48lb 8oz - Martin Smith, 47lb 8oz - Martin Smith, 46lb 8oz - Martin Smith, 46lb - Martin Smith, 45lb - Matt Smith, 44lb - Paul Bailey, 44lb - Martin Smith, 42lb 8oz Common - Matt Smith, 41lb - Martin Smith, 40lb 8oz - Matt Smith, 40lb - Steve Malone - Also - 39lb, 36lb 8oz, 36lb, 34lb, 31lb, 30lb - And - 29lb 8oz, 29lb, 28lb 8oz, 25lb.

Another 6 anglers on the lake this week - 5 from Essex and our old friend from our first opening - Martin Smith from Birmingham. All started well with 8 carp caught and 2 lost in the first 24 hours. It carried on with catches every day, and after the blazing hot start, the weather was horrendous with lots of rain right up until Friday evening, when the sun came out again just in time for the barbecue. A new Lake Record - by guess who? - Yes, Matey has been out yet again after his week's rest. He has been out every alternate week since the start of the Season, and his weight is now 85lb 8oz. We have contemplated taking him out and putting him in the Stock Pond for a good rest, but Colin says that it would not do him any good, and that he would “sulk” - he would miss all his mates. Only four weeks to go until we shut down for our - mid Season break, and he should be able to get a good rest then, but wonder if he will be out again before that. It was a hard week for some, but I am pleased to say that everyone caught a 50lb'er which was great, and Ian Noyce was definitely angler of the week, with his 80lb'er, 60lb'er, 5 x 50lb'ers and a 40lb. An altogether brilliant big lump week guys, despite the4 appalling weather. 24 carp totalling1,151 lb's, with another amazing average weight of 48lb .- 85lb 8oz - Ian Noyce - 60lb - Ian Noyce - 59lb - Harry Gibbs - 58lb - Matt Hawkes - 56lb - Mitch Noyce - 55lb - Ian Noyce - 54lb - Ian Noyce - 53lb 15oz - Ian Noyce .- 53lb - Ian Noyce - 52lb - Martin Smith - 52lb - Ian Noyce - 50lb 4oz -Barry Gibbs - 47lb Common - Mitch Noyce, 45lb - Mitch Noyce, 44lb - Mitch Noyce, 41lb - Mitch Noyce, 41lb - Mitch Noyce, 40lb - Matt Hawkes, 40lb Common - Ian Noyce - Also - 38lb, 36lb 8oz, 36lb - And - 27lb.

6 anglers visiting again this week - 5 from Kent and 1 from Lincolnshire. Another hard week for our guys, starting with a blazing hot Saturday, followed by an horrendous storm on the first evening, and rain all day Sunday. Not much happening at all - very, very slow, and much the same Monday and Tuesday, with the first fish out being the 25lb Common, but luckily it was not the shape of things to come. There were more indications that some of the carp are still spawning with grouping and splashing again by the fence, and all males being caught - some still milking. Temperatures increased by the end of the week, and fishing picked up again early Saturday morning with a lot more activity, and a lovely 52lb common appearing. Spawning may be coming to an end (but that's what we thought last week). Much better than we expected at the start - well done guys. 19 carp totalling 829 lb's, and another great average weight of 44lb. A few lost. 56lb - Joe Cairns - 52lb 14oz -Dave Johnson, -52lb - Stuart Sawkins - 52lb Common - Jamie Dunn - 50lb 13oz - Dave Johnson - 49lb - Stuart Sawkins, 49lb - Graham Dunn, 48lb - Chris Harris, 44lb - Joe Cairns, 43lb - Joe Cairns, 43lb - Joe Cairns, 40lb 8oz - Joe Cairns, 40lb - Jamie Dunn - Also- 39lb, 38lb 8oz, 37lb 8oz, 37lb, 32lb - And - 25lb.

6 anglers visiting us this week. We had our regular 2 guys from Barrow in Furness, 2 from Essex, 1 from Staffordshire, and 1 new angler from Nottinghamshire. The week started really well considering the last two were such a struggle. The carp came thick and fast over the first few days, with huge lumps from all swims - the whole lake was alive and buzzing. Catches were coming day, evening, early morning, and at night, so we thought spawning must be over, although some of the carp were still grouping by the fence. It is hard to believe, but the incredible bulk also known as Matey put in his 5th appearance in 7 weeks, still munching along merrily - so much more into his feeding programme than procreation it seems. This time his weight was 81lb 8oz - only 12oz off his record last October. Weather was comfortable not too warm, with a slight breeze - obviously perfect conditions. Then by Wednesday, everything changed. The temperature went down, and with lots of rain and very misty overnight, the carp completely switched off again. This continued until until early Saturday morning, then a couple more lumps emerged as the weather was changing again into a gloriously scorching day, with the temperature up to 35 degrees. Whatever controls the weather controls the carp, so what can you do. Had it continued the way it started, and with not so many lost, it would have turned a great week into a blinding one. Well done guys. 24 Carp caught totalling 1,128lb's. Around 8 or 9 lost .- 81lb 8oz - Peter Lee - 62lb - Rik Harris - 59lb 8oz - Rik Harris - 56lb 8oz - Billy Woods - 52lb - Rich Lee - 51lb Common - Matt Wilshaw - 49lb - Rik Harris, 49lb Rik Harris, 48lb 8oz - Matt Wilshaw, 47lb - Peter Lee, 45lb 8oz Common - Billy Woods, 45lb 8oz - Billy Woods, 45lb- Billy Woods, 45lb - Rich Lee, 43lb - Peter Lee 42lb 8oz - Matt Wilshaw, 41lb - Billy Woods, 41lb - Andy Davis, 40lb - Billy Woods, 40lb - Billy Woods - Also - 39lb, 38lb, 37lb 8oz - And - 29lb.

Our 4 anglers this week arrived from the Isle of Wight for a lake exclusive to brilliant sunshine, although it became very windy overnight. Not much happening until 5.00 Sunday morning, when that gannet Matey put in his 4th appearance - we could not believe it - we were obviously happy for our guy to have the biggest fish in the lake, but at the same time, he seriously needs the rest. His weight this time was 79lb 12oz. It was one of our guy's (Mark's) 50th birthday on Sunday, so we all had dinner, and then it was cake and champagne all round to give him a good one - banners, balloons, poppers and all. The only thing he wanted was to catch a 50 for his birthday - and blow me down if he didn't catch one on his actual birthday (51lb 12oz), and another 50 on the last night (59lb 8oz), so we are well chuffed for him. We didn't manage to get a photo of his second one, because just as we were about to, the carp leapt out of his grasp - what a bloody shame. After that, for the rest of the week, hardly anything happening at all. A couple of the male carp caught were milking, so some of the hens must have started spawning - hence this explains why it was such a very hard week for our guys. Hope it is over soon, and does not affect next week as well. We done guys for your determination. Despite that, some huge lumps signifying quality not quantity. 9 Carp caught totalling 426 lb's, with another great average weight of 47lb - 79lb 12oz - Rick Walker - 59lb 8oz - Mark Foster - 54lb 12oz - Phil Smith - 51lb 12oz - Mark Foster - 44lb - Phil Smith - Also - 37lb 8oz x 2, 31lb - And - 29lb 12oz.

5 anglers again on the lake this week after confusion with a 6th - 2 from Liverpool, 2 from Bristol, and Mike O'Connor from Ireland staying on from last week. Torrential hailstones on Saturday evening started this week's fishing, with nothing happening during the day Sunday. Sunday night and Monday morning, produced 2 x 50's and a 40. Not so cold overnight. Then a 50 and a 40 doing the business. Monday daytime, nothing showing - not a sniff - very strange, but a beautifully warm day. Later on it became very windy, then out came a lovely 40+ common, followed by a 55lb'er to top it off. Wednesday was really warm and 2 more 50's were produced from the Med swims, with Thursday being the hottest day so far - up to almost 30 degrees, and still 27 degrees at 7.00 pm. Really windy again - nothing showing and the water very calm. An extremely slow week, but again some huge lumps when they did take the bait, but we really feel for a couple of our anglers who had real hard fishing, and not a lot to show for it. The Med and Bay swims producing the most this week. Steve, a well seasoned angler, who has been coming now for a number of years, usually has a good haul, but this time the carp eluded him, and Mike O, doing his two week stint, struggled both weeks to get his two beauties. There is talk of spawning starting on some lakes already, so maybe the slowness and calm is an indication that the carp are getting ready. Shame the first barby of the Season had to be held indoors because of the wind, but we really enjoyed it and the company. On count up, a better week in total than first thought, but they just seemed to be a long time coming. 22 Carp totalling 939 lb's, and even with a few more smaller carp, still an amazing average weight of 43lb..- 56lb 12oz - Dan Keen..- 56lb 8oz - Jason Carey..- 55lb - Mick Bailey..- 54lb - Dan Keen..- 52lb 12oz - Jason Carey..- 51lb - Mick Bailey..- 50lb 4oz - Dan Keen..- 50lb 4oz - Dan Keen..- 47lb 8oz - Dan Keen, 47lb Common - Mick Bailey, 46lb 4oz Common - Jason Carey, 45lb 8oz - Dan Keen, 44lb - Mick Bailey..- Also - 39lb, 37lb, 35lb 10oz Common, 33lb, 31lb..- And - 29lb, 27lb, 25lb 4oz, 25lb.

5 anglers this week - 3 from Surrey, 2 from Essex and 1 angler all the way from Ireland, staying with us for 2 weeks. 2 small catches to start overnight on Saturday with the weather sunny with a chilly wind. On Sunday it really started to happen, with a 50 and 3 x 40's in 3 hours - all from Quarry swim. Monday saw another 56lb'er and a 49 common, plus Matey putting in his 3rd appearance in 3 weeks, and weighing almost 79lb, having lost a couple of lb's since the beginning of last week through stress. Once he gets over that though, he seems to be well on the munch again, but we really don't want to see him come out again for a few weeks - by then he should have overtaken his lake record again. A 50 and 2 x 30's overnight Tuesday, and then everything really slowed down by midweek. After some beautiful days, it rained all day, and even when the sun showed itself again, unless you were in full view of it, it was really nippy. Although this week produced the most carp in quantity so far, all in all, it was not the easiest of weeks for our guys, but sensationally productive, they still landed some amazingly big lumps. 35 carp caught totalling 1,521 lb's, and a slightly lower average than of late - 44lb .- 78lb 13oz - Owen Small - 57lb 8oz - Ali Small - 56lb - Dave Read - 52lb 12oz - Ali Small - 52lb 5oz - Owen Small - 52lb 4oz - Phil Middleton - 51lb 12oz - Phil Middleton - 51lb 8oz - Ali Small - 50lb - Owen Small - 48lb 13oz - Owen Small, 48lb 8oz - Ali Small, 47lb 8oz - Owen Small, 47lb 8oz - Phil Middleton 46lb 8oz - Ali Small, 44lb 8oz Common - Ali Small, 44lb 8oz - Ali Small, 44lb 4oz - Phil Middleton, 43lb 8oz - Owen Small, 44lb Ali Small, 43lb - Ali Small, 41lb 13oz - Michael O'Connor, 41lb - Phil Middleton, 41lb - Phil Middleton, 40lb 12oz - Ali Small - Also - 39lb 4oz, 38lb 2oz, 37lb 12oz, 33lb 8oz, 33lb, 32lb 12oz, 31lb 4oz, 30lb 8oz - And - 29lb 12oz, 29lb, 26lb.

We welcomed back 4 of our regular guys for many years, also 1 from the Isle of Wight and 1 from Cheshire. This week's anglers will all agree that after the first spout of sun and carp - with Pete Cambray netting Matey at 81lb 4oz - 2lb under her record of last year, and two 50's in the space of a few hours, it then became a slow week, with most fish being caught late evening or early morning, and hardly anything coming out during the day. Weather again changeable for the rest of the week - up to 29 degrees by Wednesday, and then clouding over with rain and wind, so tactics and movement all changed. Although it seemed slow at the time, on count up, it was in fact a very productive week, with a huge number of 50's and limited smaller carp for the 3rd week running. Seriouis abnglers who are extremely competent and great guys. 29 carp caught totalling 1,401 lb's, with an absolutely epic average of weight of 48lb - amazing. 81lb 4oz - Pete Cambray . 59lb 6oz - Pete Cambray - 59lb - Martin Cave - 58lb 8oz - Steve Quayle - 56lb 8oz - Paul Bolton - 53lb 12oz - Mark Allen - 52lb 13oz - Pete Cambray - 51lb 12oz - Mark Allen - 51lb 8oz - Martin Cave - 51lb 4oz - Mark Allen - 50lb 8oz - Paul Bolton - 50lb 4oz - Martin Cave - 50lb 4oz - Paul Bolton - 50lb - Martin Cave .- 49lb 8oz Common - Mark Allen, 49lb 4oz - Paul Bolton, 48lb 8oz - Pete Cambray, 48lb 3oz Common - Pete Cambray, 47lb - Mark Allen, 46lb 4oz - Neil Green, 45lb - Mark Allen, 42lb 12oz - Paul Bolton, 42lb 8oz - Mark Allen - Also - 39lb 12oz x 2, 38lb 8oz, 30lb - And - 29lb 12oz, 27lb 8oz.

Only 5 anglers on the lake again this week as one unfortunately had to drop out. Not much happening on the first day, but on Monday, the weather was beautifully warm, and as the sun came out, so did the fish - 2 x 50's and a 60 included, and all were caught during the day for a change. Still cold at night, and then as the week progressed, every day when it got to around 4.00 pm, the clouds appeared, and there was rain for the rest of the evening and throughout the night, continuing right up until the guys went home on Saturday. The weather plays an important part as you all know, and being so changeable, this slowed fishing down immensely - but you can't catch all of the time, and sometimes there is a lull due to many different factors but no-one knows the secret - except the carp of course. With 13 of the carp over 40lb, the big fish captures speak for themselves, and again being that the majority of carp being caught were the larger ones, the average weight is still at a premium this week. Well done to all the guys (and lady - one for the girls). 16 Carp caught totalling 743lb's, with the same amazing average weight of last week - 46lb. 62lb - Paul Dando - 57lb 9oz - Justin Kiff - 55lb - Paul Dando - 52lb 4oz - Paul Dando - 51lb 12oz - Paul Dando - 51lb - Paul Dando - 49lb 4oz, 47lb 4oz, 46lb 8oz - Paul Dando, 46lb- Reg Dando, 42lb - Reg Dando, 42lb - Paul Dando, 41lb - Shirley Smith - Also - 36lb 12oz Common, 33lb, 30lb.

What an absolutely superb opening week it has been to start the new Season 2016. The first 3 anglers of the Season arrived from Sussex to unsettled weather - one minute sunshine, then cloudy, and quite cold out of the sun. Another 2 arrived from Warwickshire the next day to much the same. Some of the guys struggled, but when they caught, they were big lumps. Nick Burrows nailed it with the most carp caught, and was still catching right up until he was packing up to leave - a week he will not forget in a hurry. Our old friend Matey decided he would put in an appearance being the greedy guts that he is, now weighing in at 77lb 8oz - a few pounds lighter than his 82lb at the end of last year. Now that Winter is over, and he is well on the munch, he will soon be packing on the lb's again for another lake record no doubt. Colder weather with rain towards the end of the week and minus 4 overnight. So absolutely brilliant catches despite the weather being so changeable. We have had a great crack with this lovely bunch of guys. Weights went through the spectrum this week, with 26 carp caught, totalling 1,198 lb's, and an exceptional average weight of 46lb. The amount of smaller carp emerging now compared to the larger, seems to be dropping at quite a rate. 4 lost.....- 77lb 8oz - Nick Burrows....- 61lb - Kevin Knowles....- 57lb - Nick Burrows, 55lb 8oz - Nick Burrows, 53lb 12oz - Craig Vernon, 52lb - Nick Burrows, 51lb - Kevin Bruce....- 49lb Kevin Knowles, 48lb 8oz - Mat Smith, 48lb 8oz Common - Nick Burrows, 48lb - Nick Burrows, 46lb - Nick Burrows, 45lb 8oz - Nick Burrows, 44lb - Nick Burrows, 43lb - Nick Burrows, 42lb - Nick Burrows, 41lb - Nick Burrows, 40lb 8oz - Nick Burrows, 40lb - Kevin Bruce....- Also - 39lb x 2, 38lb 8oz, 38lb 4oz, 37lb, 36lb 8oz...- And - 26lb.

END OF SEASON REPORT 2015...Lac Les Pins has had another amazing year of spectacular sized Carp, not mention the fantastic average weights and large hauls. The total carp caught was actually down this year, mainly due to the absolutely scorching weather, which started getting very warm, even in early April, and at one stage getting up to 35 degrees one minute to freezing cold the next, especially overnight. It carried on getting warmer and warmer right through June, July and August , with it being the hottest Summer for a decade. The carp went through a number of spawning modes, and the catch rate was lower, with the carp going into the much cooler water, and feeding on the abundance of natural food at this time. Hence, our number of 60's was down, indicative of the weight loss that this inflicted, but having said that, a lot of what would have been 60's showed themselves in the number of 50's coming out, which was phenomenal - almost every week - there was only one week in the whole Season that did not produce a 50. A 70, 3 x 50's and 9 x 40's started the first week of the Season extremely well, with a steady flow of 50's until the end of April. The production then went from amazing to sensational, with the best week being 25th April - 2nd May . 1 x 70, 3 x 60's, 13 x 50's, 9 x 40's, 14 x 30's and 6 x 20's - a total haul of 46 carp, and an average weight of 44lb. The week after of 2nd - 9th May was almost as good, with 8 x 50's, 17 x 40's, 8 x 30's, and 11 x 20's - total haul of 44 carp, and an average of 40lb. These sort of amounts of carp are usually caught at runs waters, but these weights are much larger, and so much more worth waiting for. Best weight and undisputable Lake Record, goes to Will George from Norfolk, for catching Matey at 82lb during the last few weeks of the Season. We had no idea he would gain this weight after the drought lasting so long, but it did not seem to affect his feeding too much. Best Common weight goes to Wayne Gilbert at 51lb. The only sorry part of last Season was the very sad and untimely passing of Ryan Beech. It was the first time that he had visited the lake, and had a wonderful time. We are so pleased that he managed to catch his Personal Best of 59lb 13oz. Again, very sad to hear about one of our regular guys - Dave Goodwin who also passed away before his time during 2015 - may you both rest in peace. Total number of carp caught - 556, with an average weight of 41lb. Baz started reconstructing another two new platforms in the Dam and Quarry swims almost as soon as the Season had finished, and he has not been idle since. He has had plenty of cutting back and strimming to do while the weather was still up to 20 degrees. The second aerator is now connected on the other side of the lake, so that will be also beneficial if the weather is as extreme as last year. Other works to be completed before the new Season begins in Apri, is a new roof on the Angler's lodge, as this is now showing signs of wear with a few leakages, but it is sod's law that just as he wanted to start, the weather changed to rain, rain and more rain. It is going to get much colder, but at least it will be dry, so he can crack on. Also for this year, we are building a new office on site, which means that I will be able to be at the lake much more often - don't know if that is a good or bad thing .

Only 3 anglers on the lake for the very last week of our Season - 2 from Warwickshire, and 1 from Liverpool, but all one group. It was extremely slow and hard all week for these guys, although the weather was warmer, we did have a lightning storm mid-week, which seemed to move the carp further down the lake so that everyone had a good catch. Not a particularly huge haul, although when the guys did catch, they were worth waiting for. Good weights, with larger, rather than the smaller carp being produced - hence the great average weight yet again. The guys all had a great time - well done you all. 9 Carp totalling 380 lb's, with an average weight of 42lb, and 2 lost .- 54lb - Ged Hargreaves - 50lb 8oz - Charlie Sandy - 47lb 8oz - Charlie Sandy, 45lb - Charlie Sandy, 44lb - Charlie Sandy, 42lb - Steve Marsden - Also - 37lb 13oz, 36lb 14oz - And - 23lb.

6 anglers this week - 2 regulars from Sheffield, 1 regular from Surrey, and 3 newbies from Suffolk. The week started yet again cool and very slow. Some sunny days, and a little rain. We thought it might have been a bit of an anti-climax after the massive events of last week, with Matey's appearance at 82lb, but it proved to be another outstanding week of big lumps gracing the nets. At the lake this week, we had 4 regular anglers from Norfolk including Colin's twin brother Tony, and 2 newbies from Yorkshire. It was the Norfolk group's 2nd visit this year, only because of a cancellation due to illness, and boy are they glad they came. Will George who has had some great catches here over the years, caught Matey at 82lb - the now Lake Record, on the last evening, and along with another 2 x 50's and a few 40's, he is going to be buzzing for some time to come. He is certainly Man of the Moment this week. Matey has not been on the bank since mid June, when he weighed in at 78lb 8oz, and we were getting a little concerned for him, but he must have been having a good rest after the hot Summer, feeding well, and putting the weight on. His presence this week lit up a smile on everyone's face with his fantastic weight - what a star, but he is getting older and wiser now. The changeable weather started off warm with slow catches for a couple of days, and then an icy wind blew up with some rain, and it became very bitter at night. Catches were very spasmodic, but the larger carp started appearing from Wednesday - a particularly cold day, and we had thought that the colder weather must have been contributing to the slow catch rate, but obviously not. A few less catches this week, but Oh! do we care? - no, we are over the moon. 17 Carp caught totalling 730.8 lb's, with another great average weight of 43lb .- 82lb - Will George ..- 50lb - Will George .- 50lb - Tich Lakey .- 50lb - again Will George .- 49lb - Martin White, 49lb - again Martin White, 46lb - Will George, 46lb Common - Will George, 42lb - Tich Lakey, 41lb - Tony Nash, 40lb 8oz - Will George - Also - 38, 33lb, 31lb - And - 29lb, 28lb, 26lb.

We were hosts to 6 anglers this week from Manchester, Cheshire and Grimsby, including John Trushell making his 3rd trip this year. John has had some fantastic catches over the years that he has been visiting us, but a 50 lb'er has always eluded him, and this year he came oh so close with a 49lb 8oz - bad luck John - I'm sure it will happen next year. Fishing was very hard and slow for everyone this week, with the weather changing dramatically - a lot of rain and much colder, with many more of the smaller carp putting in an appearance, unlike last week. Other lakes reporting much the same. Again, the results of the 3 month heatwave showed in some of the larger carp being landed at a lot lower weight than we have photographed earlier in the year, and we don't actually know how many times they spawned during that time. 23 Carp caught totalling 805 lb's, with a much lower average weight this week of 35lb. 2 lost Great effort guys....- 53lb - Julian Davison...- 50lb - Julian Davison...- 49lb 8oz - John Trushell, 46lb - John Trushel,l 46lb - again John Trushell, 43lb - Steve Quayle...- Also - 38lb, 37lb 8oz, 37lb, 36lb 4oz, 33lb, 32lb 12oz, 30lb 12oz, 30lb...- And - 29lb 8oz, 29lb, 28lb 4oz, 28lb, 27lb 8oz, 27lb, 26lb 5oz, 25lb, 22lb.

6 anglers - some regular and some new mostly from Barrow-in-Furness (not Stoke .). Fantastic bunch of lads who Colin and Baz really have a great laugh with all week. Weather again warm during the day and very low temperatures at night, but obviously good fishing weather going by the amazing weights from almost all of the swims. The usually highly productive Point failed to deliver this week, with only 1 small carp caught from it on the last night. Mostly 40's and 50's landed showing in the brilliant average weight of 43lb. Bearing in mind that with the 3 months of scorching weather we had this year, when the carp were not eating much at all, these weights could have been much higher, giving us back some of the 60's that have obviously lost weight, as they don't seem to be showing at all. We should have had a group of 6 this week, but unfortunately we had to ban some of the anglers for seriously flouting our rules, which we did not find out about until after they had booked. Consequently, we only had 3 anglers this week from London and Grimsby. Rain every day from the Saturday - a far cry from the lovely weather of last week. On Thursday, the sun tried to come out, but never quite managed it. Slow intermittent catches - not quite so many, but some good weights yet again. 15 Caught totalling 573lb's, with a bit lower average weight than usual of 38 lb. Our anglers came from Staffordshire and Nottingham this week, and had an amazing one considering that for the first time in 11 years, I overbooked the lake by 2, so there were 8 anglers instead of 6. Although it caused a headache at first, these guys just took it in their stride, and 4 did not mind doubling up in the Bay - great bunch with whom we always have a good laugh. The weather was absolutely perfect for the fishing - warm, slight breeze - nippy later in the day and very cold some nights, but excellent for the water temperature. Good to see the Dam swim was one of the most productive this week, with a 50 and 5 x 40's along with the Med, but great weights from all swims. Although it started slow, when it took off - wow. The carp are starting to feed well for the Winter now, putting the weight back on which they lost during the 3 month heatwave. 37 Carp totalling 1,482 lb's, with an average weight of 40lb. Just 2 regular anglers from Essex fished this week, and what a fantastic haul they had. Very hot weather yet again with no rain to speak of, and getting very cold at nights. More breeze though and the aerators kept the water moving. Baz fished one night with them, and was more than pleased with his 51lb 5oz. The Bay swims went quiet later in the week, so Brian moved into the quarry which Baz had nicely baited up for him, and where he caught another 50, along with 2 x 40's, a 30 and a 20. An amazing 6 x 50's this week, and 9 x 40's, with 23 carp between them - absolutely brilliant for 2 anglers. Well done you two, especially with Brian's injury to his arm due to one of the 40's injecting the dorsal deep into his arm, and his bad back, which is why his son is holding some of his catches in a few of the photographs. He has had the best week's fishing ever (quote) - well done Colin. The other guys Paul and Steve did really well too. Much the same as last week, cooler to start the week off, and temperatures soaring again later, becoming extremely humid. Colin's twin brother Tony and 3 friends from Norfolk visited us at the lake this week. The rain carried on from Friday, all night Saturday and Sunday, so everything cooled down enough to produce a 50 and a couple of 40's and 30's in the first few days, so everyone hoping that the Carp were starting to go on the munch. BUT then temperatures rose yet again on Tuesday and by Wednesday, it was absolutely boiling with 42 degrees being noted by Baz on his way home around 6.00 pm. We thought this was really going to switch them off again, but then it rained all Wednesday night, and for the next couple of days it was much cooler with systematic catches coming along nicely. Some good lumps out again, with Will George being top dog with his 3 x 50's. A good week guys. 28 Carp caught totalling 987 lb's, with a lower average weight of this week of 35.8lb because there were a few smaller carp being caught - didn't think we had any more of those, but as we didn't put them in, they must be from spawn that avoided being eaten. 5 lads from Liverpool, and our good friend Martin Smith from Birmingham for the second time this year, were our group for this week. Started off overcast and slightly cooler than of late, with temperatures soaring yet again at the beginning of the week, but not before a few good catches. The threat of a storm on Wednesday did not produce a lot of rain overnight, and the humidity continued. We finally got the rain we wanted all Friday night, but not soon enough to benefit our guys, unfortunately. Having said that, it was not a bad week for production, catching 15 carp totalling 596 lb's, with an average weight of 40lb, and 2 lost. The second half of the Season started last week, with the return of our very regular group of 6 anglers from Liverpool. After the hottest June and July for decades, the water remained at an extremely warm temperature, and there was no sign of any feeding, so we thought that there may be a very low production. We think that the carp have also been through another spawn during the time we have been closed, so they really deserved the rest to recover. Much to our delight, cloud formed, rain began in fits and starts, and with a lot more overnight, it generally cooled things down. The aerators helped considerably in these conditions, so it was a good job that these were purchased just in case of such extremes, because a lot of lakes are now suffering some serious consequences I'm afraid. Carp started feeding, and catches picked up during the course of the week, with unusually, more being caught in the day time. Overall - a really good week considering the odds. Well done you guys - as usual, you really enjoyed yourselves. 21 Carp caught totalling 813lb's, with an average weight of 39lb .- 55lb - Simon Wells - 52lb 8oz - Simon Wells - 48lb - Simon Wells, 46lb 11oz - Alan Smith, 46lb 4oz - Daz Constable, 45lb - Daz Constable, 44lb 8oz - Daz Constable, 44lb - Wayne Hogg, 44lb - Daz Constable, 44lb - Simon Wells, 43lb - Simon Wells - Also - 37lb 4oz, 37lb, 32lb 4oz, 31lb 12oz - And - 29lb 12oz, 28lb, 27lb 8oz, 26lb x 2, 25lb 8oz.

4 anglers from Solihull and 2 from Staffordshire at the lake this week. The first day started cooler and overcast, but temperatures rose abruptly seeing it go to 42 degrees. Some smaller carp caught, them having more energy than the larger ones, and the aerator problems gave Baz a bit of a headache, which he did not need in this weather. We thought the blistering temperatures were going to cool down on Thursday, but it was not to be - every day was like a sauna whenever you moved about, and it was inevitable that it was not going to be a very productive week. Well done guys for determination and effort. Only three anglers on the lake this week - two from North Yorkshire, and Steve from Cheshire, on his second trip this year. He will be also be coming back for a third time in October. Such a hard week, the worst of the Season so far. Although loads of activity and fizzing all over the lake, with the continuing extremely high temperatures and pressure, some of the larger carp are looking to be doing what they do to procreate, and we think they are going into spawn mode again. At the moment, the carp know what is good for them for breeding, because they seem to be feeding on the abundant quantity of bloodworm and other naturals that inhabit the lake when the water is so warm. This is probably just the right time to give them their usual mid-Season break during July, so that they can rest and recuperate from this second spawn. Resting them proved extremely beneficial last year, because the catch rate was phenomenal during the second half of the Season. Good to see our new guy Chris catch one of the 50's though. 6 anglers next week for the last week before the mid Season break, and temperatures are set to be extreme - time for the aerators to go into action I think. Ryan, Phil and Pops from Stoke stayed at the lake another week, and were joined by 3 anglers from Essex. Started cool and overcast with some rain, but by Wednesday, was sweltering again. Matey put in an appearance for the first time in several weeks at 78lb 8oz, and although the lake record again, if he had come out before the spawn, we are sure he would have topped 80lb - still waiting for that to happen, probably later in the year now. Pops continued to do well with the most 50's, but it was still a hard week - slow and intermittent, with dozens of carp showing around the baited up areas, but they just wouldn't take it. Still a good haul of large lumps which can't be sneezed at. It was a hard start again for our 4 anglers from Stoke and 2 from Hampshire. With the weather still boiling hot, the carp were recovering from their spawn of the past 2 weeks. Lots of rain was predicted, but never materialized - just a few heavy downpours and a couple of cloudy days, but mainly it was sunny with a lovely cool breeze. Catches started to pick up later in the week, although it was still hard for some, and unfortunately one of our new guys, on his first trip to France, failed to catch anything this time. So sorry - I hate to see this, but inevitably it does happen sometimes - fish are unpredicatable and a law unto themselves as to where they want to go. The carp seemed to be well on the munch by the end of the week, showing in the better catch rate, and producing the majority of big lumps yet again. There should have been 6 anglers on the lake this week, but unfortunately due to illness, 2 could not make it, so there were only 4. Martin Smith stayed another week, alongside 1 of our regulars from Nottinghamshire, and 2 from Essex. The carp were still well into spawn mode, with lots of activity in the margins during the day, and the only catches were either at night or early morning when it cooled down. The week started cloudy, with some rain, then the temperatures gradually increased, and we registered a sweltering 40 degrees at the lake on Wednesday and Thursday. The guys tried hard to stay in the shade, but are peeling a bit despite their efforts. Had some great laughs on barbecue night. The large carp being caught still outweighed the smaller catches, with Martin achieving his PB this week. He has been coming since we opened, and always loves to fish the Quarry or Dam swims. Although still hard for some, not a bad week overall in catch size. 15 Carp caught totalling 643 lb's, with a tremendous average weight of 43lb. It has been a struggle this week for our 5 guys from Birmingham and Middlesex. A far cry from the past few weeks of huge hauls, with the weather overcast to start, and then carrying on very hot, spawning was very much in progress showing in the low catch rate this week. You pick your date and you take your chance, and if the Carp are spawning, there is not much you can do about it, but cheer up, have a lovely relaxing time and get a sun tan if you can - that's fishing, and no weeks are guaranteed with every year different. All the guys though exceeded their PB's, and had a great time, so not all bad. 11 Carp totalling 447 lb's with another good average weight of 41lb ..- 50lb 8oz - Martin evans - 49lb Martin smith, 48lb Paul Dando, 47lb - Martin smith, 46lb - Martin Smith, 44lb 12oz - Justin Kiff .- Also - 36lb, 33lb, 32lb 4oz, 31lb 8oz - And - 29lb.

Another huge lump productive week for our 6 anglers from the West Midlands. They used to be regular visitors to the lake, but have had a break in recent years starting families etc, but now they are back with a vengeance, and have already booked for 2016 and 2017 to make sure they get their spot - very wise. Most surpassed their PB's several times because the carp have grown substantially since their last visit. Slow to start yet again, with mixed weather of hot days turning to cold nights, and extremely warm in the sun, but bitter in the shade with an icy wind. Hailstones showered from the heavens mid week, and after that the 50's appeared in abundance, much to everyone's delight. Signs of spawning apparent on some of the larger carp, and with the weather set to get even warmer next week, they could get well under way very soon. Nick (Minty) Beasley and Brian rolls vied for top dog, but Nick just topped with his overall weight by 10lb's, both had 3 x 50's each. Great bunch of guys - well done. 21 carp totalling 883 lb's, and a continuing average over 40 of 42 lb .- 59lb 8oz - Craig McEvoy - 59lb 8oz - Nick Beasley - 56lb 12oz - Nick Beasley - 56lb 8oz - Brian Rolls - 55lb 10oz - Brian Rolls - 54lb 12oz - Sam Beasley - 51lb 12oz - Nick Beasley - 51lb 8oz - Brian Rolls - 50lb 4oz Common - Craig McEvoy - 50lb - Sam Beasley - 49lb - Brian Rolls, 49lb - Craig McEvoy, 48lb 9oz - Sam Beasley - Also - 38lb 7oz, 36lb, 35lb, 33lb - And - 29lb, 27lb, 26lb 4oz, 25lb.

6 anglers on the lake with us this week - 4 regular guys from from Cheshire, London, and Corydon, Surrey and 2 new anglers from Surbiton, Surrey. Well - we knew it could not go on producing the way it has the past couple of weeks - it had to slow down, and it certainly did this week. Our anglers arrived on Saturday to boiling hot temperatures of around 35 degrees and high pressure, which persisted until Thursday. One 41lb caught overnight on the Saturday and no more sign until Tuesday - a 41lb and two smaller, then intermittent catches until the 50's showed themselves much later in the week when it cooled down some, but not enough to make a huge difference, and we did have an angler who blanked. Luckily, he is one of our most regular visitors, and has had amazing catches in the past, so he realizes that this was just not his week. Possibly the carp are getting ready to spawn, but we will see because temperatures set to be cooler next week. Well done guys for persistence and tolerance. 17 Carp caught totalling 638lb's, with the lowest average weight this Season of 38lb ..- 59lb - David Elliott .- 58lb - Andrew Elliott .- 48lb - David Elliott, 43lb - Andrew Elliott, 41lb - David Elliott, 41lb - Julian Davison, 40lb - David Elliott, 40lb - David Elliott - Also - 39lb Common, 37lb, 33lb - And - 28lb 12oz, 28lb 8oz, 26lb x 2 (1 Common), 25lb 8oz, 24lb.

6 anglers visited us this week - 2 of our regular guys from Barrow in Furness, and 4 new anglers from Bedfordshire. We had thought after last week's utterly uncontestable week, that it could not possibly perform anywhere near that, but although the carp came in fits and starts, much slower again with really unsettled weather and some very cold nights, again I am pleased to report that 50's and 40's were in abundance, with 3 anglers landing two 50's each and 2 landing 1 each. Some swims struggled more than others, but they all got there in the end. Stuart Dickman landed the biggest haul with 17 carp, and Billy Wood's 11 carp were the best weights in total. With so many 50's being caught at the moment, and a lot of carp in the upper 40's bracket, there will be many more appearing if it carries on like this - and the total amount of 50's this year will be phenomenal. A great week - well done. 44 Carp caught totalling 1,734lb's, with an average weight of 40lb, and 6 lost .- 58lb - Steve Dickman - 58lb - Billy Woods - 54lb 4oz - Stuart Dickman - 54lb - Steve Dickman - 51lb - Rik Harris - 51lb Common- Wayne Gilbert - 51lb -Stuart Dickman - 50lb 8oz - Billy Woods - 49lb - Stuart Dickman, 49lb - Billy Woods, 48lb 9oz - Wayne Hull, 48lb 8oz - Wayne Gilbert, 48lb - Billy Woods, 48lb - Wayne Gilbert, 46lb - Billy Woods, 46lb - Stuart Dickman, 45lb 12oz - Wayne Gilbert, 45lb 10oz - Wayne Hull, 43lb 8oz - Billy Woods, 43lb - Stuart Dickman, 43lb - Billy Woods, 42lb 8oz - Rik Harris, 42lb - Billy Woods, 42lb - Stuart Dickman, 40lb 6oz - Wayne Hull - Also - 39lb, 34lb, 33lb 8oz, 33lb 4oz, 33lb, 30lb 8oz x 2, 30lb - And - 29lb 8oz, 28lb, 27lb, 25lb 8oz, 24lb 8oz, 23lb 12oz, 23lb x 3, 22lb 8oz, 22lb.

This week went from amazing to sensational, and is set to be our best week ever. 5 guys from Norfolk, Warwickshire and Cornwall have had a week that will be forever remembered, with a combination of a massive haul of huge lumps and some of the stockies. Instead of starting off slow as in previous weeks, it started with 6 x 50's in 24 hours (some new). Even though a little colder, the water temperature was still warm with the carp getting well into the margins. Everyone's first catch was a 50 or more coming out from all swims occupied, and we are so pleased that a couple of guys who both celebrated their 50th Birthday this year, and hoped to land a 50 did so - they were not disappointed, so it has made their year. Absolutely gutted for young Andy Burton who caught Matey at 75lb (lost a little through already being caught), got ready in the water for his magnificent photo, but Matey got away before one could be taken - his pb was only previously 36lb, and this would have been one for his wall. Pete Higman had the most fantastic week, with 2 60's, and 4 of the 50's, with Martin Quayle close behind with 1 x 60 and 4 x 50's. Two of the 60's were new ones, and so were a few of the 50's. Growth rate has been phenomenal. Later in the week, the rain started, and it went on and on, switching catches off slightly, but stockies still making an appearance and 2 more 50's on the last night. Shirley Smith came with her husband as a non angler, but decided to fish for a day. Only had her rods out 20 minutes and caught another lovely 50lb 8oz. Some very smiling faces left the lake, and we are all ecstatic for them. 46 Carp caught totalling 2,010 lb's, with again another mind blowing average weight of 44lb .- 75lb - Andy Burton - 61lb 4oz - Pete Higman - 61lb - Martin Quayle - 60lb - Pete Higman - 59lb - Pete Higman - 58lb - Martin Quayle - 57lb 4oz - Martin Quayle - 56lb 6oz - Tony Cooper - 56lb - Pete Higman - 53lb 8oz - Pete Higman - 53lb - Martin Quayle - 52lb - Tony Cooper - 51lb 8oz - Martin Quayle - 50lb 13oz - Tony Cooper - 50lb 8oz - Shirley Smith - 50lb - Tony Smith - 50lb Common - Pete Higman - 49lb - Tony Smith, 47lb - Pete Higman, 46lb - Martin Quayle, 45lb Common - Andy Burton, 44lb 8oz - Martin Quayle, 44lb - Martin Quayle, 42lb - Tony smith, 41lb Common - Tony Smith, 40lb 8oz - Martin Quayle - Also - 39lb 12oz, 39lb 1oz, 38lb 4oz, 38lb, 36lb 8oz, 35lbx 2, 34lb x 3, 33lb 8oz, 32lb 8oz, 31lb, 30lb - And - 29lb, 28lb 8oz, 28lb, 27lb 8oz, 27lb, 25lb.

5 anglers at the lake this week from Liverpool and Surrey. For the third week running running, it has been a very slow start, although Mark Allen landed his first 50 lb'er as soon as he put his rods out last Saturday. Again, weather was hot to start but things improved fantastically once it had cooled down some. Everyone had a great week with a 40 or 50 lb'er. The pretty one came out again after gracing the bank twice the previous week, and has already put on 3lb, taking it to 41lb. This is going to look amazing at 50 and 60. So pleased for Mark because he has struggled a bit over the years he has been visiting us, but he always knew what were in there, and his patience has paid off big time, as on the morning of his departure, he also landed a new 60lb'er making his week complete. It turned into a brilliant week altogether with 23 Carp caught totalling 957 lb's, and another fantastic average of 42lb. 6 of our regular guys on he lake for the second weekof the season, and very slow again to start. Whereas it was freezing cold until Wednesday of last week, it went to the other extreme of being a blazing hot 35 degrees until Wednesday, when it cooled slightly, so most carp were caught after this. An expected thunderstorm did not materialise, which would have brought the carp on, and weather reports were changing from day to day. It has been the warmest April for quite a few years. A lovely double take on Thursday early morning by Dave Morley with his 48lb and 55lb. Still some amazing big lumps out, and a few of the stockies showing this week. 17 Carp caught with 2 lost totalling 713 lb's - 3 x 50's, 7 x 40's, 5 x 30's and 2 x 20's (28lb and 27lb), and another fabulous average weight of 42lb. 55lb - Dave Morley - 54lb - Paul Liveras - 53lb 5oz - Paul Liveras - 49lb 7oz - Lee Hallberg, 48lb 10oz - Jason Carey, 48lb - Dave Morley, 43lb 10oz - Dan Keen, 43lb - Paul Liveras, 43lb Jason Carey, 40lb 7oz - John Trushell - With - 38lb 4oz, 38lb 4oz Common, 38lb, 33lb, 32lb 7oz And - 28lb, 27lb.

Only 4 anglers from Surrey, Hampshire and Wiltshire to start our Season off due to a couple of late cancellations. Started off very, very slow, with strong icy winds - bitter in the shade, and freezing frost overnight. The water temperature was still extremely cold, but there was a lot of fizzing and crashing about. A 46lb 12oz was first out on Sunday morning, but then nothing until it slowly started warming up on Tuesday, and then by Wednesday at 25 degrees, it all started happening with intermittent huge catches for the rest of the week, although nothing at night still being so cold. Colin and Baz did a couple of nights each, although poor old Baz blanked, as did one of our anglers unfortunately. He had a blinding week in the same swim, at the same time last year, so just goes to show how, with very different weather, everything turns around in fishing. Matey put in his first appearance, having lost a few 1b's over the winter, but we hope he will top 80 in a few months' time. He came along just as it was time to pack up this morning, 1 rod went off, and as soon as we looked in the net, we knew it was Matey at 76lb 4oz. Whilst Phil was playing Matey, his other rod went off, and so this was a double take with another 50lb'er - a great finish for him. Nothing out under 41lb, so none of the stockies making an appearance yet. 13 big lumps caught totalling 656 lb's with the most amazing average ever of 50.46lb...- 76lb 4oz - Phil Middleton....- 56lb 8oz - Lee Beavan.....- 53lb 12oz - Kevin Marden....- 50lb 4oz - Phil Middleton....- 49lb 14oz - Lee Beavan, 49lb - Phil Middleton, 47lb Colin Nash, 47lb - Phil Middleton, 46lb 12oz - Kevin Marden, 46lb 8oz - Kevin Marden, 46lb 4oz - Kevin Marden, 45lb 8oz - Kevin Marden, 41lb - Lee Beavan. END OF SEASON REPORT 2014...What a phenomenal year it has been, with an amazing amount of 50's gracing our banks, much to the delight of so many of our anglers. With the mild weather and feeding well, a lot of these will be going into the 60's in no time. The Season started with really warm weather, hitting 80 degrees, and carrying on for the next couple of weeks. It still remained cold and frosty at nights so the water stayed at a relatively good temperature for feeding. Fishing became harder during May, and we thought the carp were in spawn mode early with the temperatures being so warm, but then the weather turned colder. With intermittent sunshine, rain, storms and wind, they were switching on and off, and did not finally manage it until June. They were exhausted, and as we closed during July for our own break, the carp had a chance to rest and recover, feeding on all the natural abundance of bloodworm that the lake produces at this time of year. Resting them must have worked, because they were well on the munch during the second half of the Season, with top catches from every swim. Again 50's kept on coming. Work has carried on into the Winter with 4 new large platforms being erected on the Med, Riviera, Bay and Point swims. Also the usual unending cutting back and general tidying up of the grounds - it is looking fantastic, even in Winter. We have also carried out a great new facelift to the wc, shower and washroom areas. For your added comfort, we have purchased six new luxury 8 legged bedchairs, and also top of the range Avid cradles for even greater protection of our carp. All in all, we are extremely satisfied with what we have achieved this year, it just gets better and better .- Best weeks were 4th - 11th October with 47 carp including 5 - 50's 1st - 8th August with 40 carp including 5 - 50's and 12th - 19th April with 48 carp including 3 - 50's .- Top Fishermen were Ron Chillery with 23 carp including 2 - 50's, Pete Skipworth with 15 carp including 23 - 50's, and Owen Giles with 15 carp including 2 - 50's ..- Best weight was 78lb - Steve Hancock .- Best Common was 50lb 2oz - Tich Lakey.

The very last week of our Season and joined by 4 anglers from Sheffield, Lincolnshire and Essex. A much slower week with catches switching off in the Dam and Quarry, unlike last week - and moving to the Med, where our guy there had himself 7 - 40's, including a Common. There is something fantastic that the Quarry did produce before they moved though - early in the week, Matey weighed in at an amazing 78lb. Colin weighed him 3 times to be sure, and he was spot on. Think you may be fishing for an 80lb' er next year guys. Weather was colder and the guys said they were really cold overnight, so the water temperature is starting to have it's effect. I think we can safely say that we have ended on a high note. See you all next year guys - will keep you posted of all the new improvements to the lake. 21 Carp caught weighing 826 lb's, and an average weight of 39lb - I am afraid that the guy with the 7 - 40's does not want his name or photograph published, which is a shame as they are great photos, but fair enough if that is what he wants. 78lb (Lake Record) - Steve Hancock ..- 44lb 8oz - John Trushell, 44lb - Richard Swinburn, 40lb - Richard Swinburn - 48lb, 47lb 10oz, 46lb 8oz, 45lb 2oz, 42lb 2oz, 41lb 5oz, 40lb Common - (Name withheld as requested). A fantastic production from the Quarry and Dam swims this week though, with the temperature slightly cooler around 15/18 degrees, the Carp moved into slightly deeper depths of water. Chilly and damp with overnight dew, and a lot of rain on Thursday. Some great lumps still coming out, and the amount of 50's again this week is sensational. We can not believe the amount of carp coming out at this time of year, but they are really on the munch due to the exceptionally mild weather. The week started with lovely sunshine, but became pretty dire mid week for our 6 guys from Bristol and Staffordshire. They had to put up with really heavy rain for a couple of days and nights, but they did not seem to mind the weather, because the catches were so brilliant. A 70, 50 and 5 x 40's appeared from the Dam this week, with only the Point swim not producing a 50lb'er. Spot on you guys - well done, a great haul. We have had some amazing weeks since the second half of our Season, and this week was no exception for our 5 lads from Wiltshire. A great haul, with the usually productive Point completely switching off, and the other swims almost neck and neck in production. Some fantastic lumps yet again, although the carp have lost a little weight with less eating at this time of year, but you wouldn't think so. An amazing amount of 40's. Temperatures have been lovely, with no rain and a promised thunderstorm passing over with only a few sounds of the thunder and nothing else. Absolutely mint. Well done lads. We hope the guy who ended up in hospital and couldn't make it gets well soon. 40 Carp weighing 1,542 lb's, with an average of 39lb.....- 53lb 8oz - Terry Tsoulouhopoulos...- 52lb 8oz - Ian Baker...- 51lb - Terry Tsoulouhopoulos...- 49lb 13oz - Ian Baker, 47lb 2oz - Rich Leat, 46lb 10oz - Ian Baker, 45lb 14oz - Rich Leat, 44lb 5oz - Rich Leat, 44lb 5oz Common - Rich Leat, 43lb 12oz - Rich Leat, 43lb 3oz - Terry Tsoulouhopoulos, 42lb 14oz - Ryan furness, 42lb 7oz - Rich Leat, 42lb 1oz - Ian Baker, 41lb 8oz - Ian Baker, 41lb 1oz - Ian Baker, 40lb 12oz - Ian Baker, 40lb 2oz - Ryan furness...- Also...- 39lb 15oz, 39lb 6oz, 39lb 5oz, 38lb 8oz, 37lb 8oz Common, 37lb 8oz, 37lb 1oz, 36lb 10oz, 35lb 12oz, 35lb 4oz, 33lb 5oz, 31lb 4oz, 31lb, 30lb 8oz, 30lb 3oz...- And 29lb 10oz, 29lb 6oz, 28lb, 27lb 3oz, 25lb 2oz, 24lb 7oz, 22lb 10oz.

The fantastic catches continued this week for our 5 anglers from the Isle of Wight, and all 5 lucky enough to net a 40lb +. Owen Giles stole the show with his 15 catches, including two 50's. Great to see more commons also showing up on the bank again. The temperature rose quite significantly, but did not seem to affect the fishing, with quite a few still coming out during the day. 1 Angler from Lincoln, 2 from Birmingham and 3 from Cheshire visited us this week, and another fantastic big carp haul commenced. Julian Davison beat his PB twice, and caught a common which was his wish this time. He pulled it off this week with some great catches. We had great fun with these guys, watching David Wood do his ice bucket challenge, and then him nominating our own Bazza to do the same - what a laugh we all had. Thanks guys brilliant. Perfect weather again, but set to get hotter again for next week. 34 Carp with 5 lost - 1 apparently huge. 3 Anglers at the lake this week from Nottinghamshire and Middlesex. It should have been 5 anglers, but the other 2 could not make it. Shame for them, because what a week it was for those three. Richard Bird and Ron Chillery fought to be top man for the week, but Ron overtook with an amazing 23 carp to Richard's 11. It could have been one of our best weeks if there had been two more fishing. Weather just right again, quite warm, nippy at night with a little rain. Some of the carp were a little hyper, so a couple of photos missed. 39 carp is amazing, and a few lost. Well done you guys - fantastic. 6 of our regular guys from Manchester on the lake for the first week of the second half of our Season, and what an amazing week for them, it just went mad - the fish just did not stop coming out. It just shows how everything changes on the lake from week to week, and this week must have been just right. Plenty of everything, sun, wind, rain and hazy days obviously provided the mostexcellent conditions for catching, along with their long rest during July. Everyone caught a 40, but Alan Smith stole the show with his outstanding catches including Matey at 72lb 7oz on the last night, with Daz Constey not far behind. Well done to a great bunch of guys, and with two of them having birthdays this week, my baking skills were put to the test. A superb, almost perfect week. 40 Carp caught totaling 1,581 lb's, with an average weight of 40lb.....- 72lb 7oz - Alan smith....- 52lb 7oz - Alan Smith...- 51lb 12oz - Alan Smith...- 51lb 8oz - Dave Constable...- 50lb 6oz - Dave Constable...- 50lb - Daz Constey...- 49lb 14oz - Daz Constey, 49lb 4oz - Alan Smith, 48lb 12oz - Alan Smith, 44lb 12oz - Alan Smith, 44lb 8oz - Alan Smith, 43lb 6oz - Alan Smith, 43lb 4oz - Simon Wells, 42lb 12oz - Alan Smith, 42lb 11oz - Dan Scanlon, 41lb 12oz - Alan Smith, 41lb 12 oz - Alan Smith, 41lb 2oz - Wayne Hogg, 40lb - Simon Wells....- Also - 38lb 12oz, 38lb 2oz, 37lb 13oz, 37lb, 36lb 12oz, 36lb 8oz, 36lb, 35lb 7oz, 34lb 2oz, 32lb 11oz, 32lb 7oz, 31lb 9oz, 31lb 7oz, 30lb 8oz, 30lb 5oz...- And - 28lb 8oz, 27lb 8oz, 27lb 7oz, 26lb 5oz, 25lb 7oz, 24lb 8oz.

2 new anglers from Cheshire and 2 regulars from Norfolk on the lake for the last week of the first half of our Season. Should have been another regular, but poor health prevented him from one of his two visits this year. Cooler weather was not to be as the week continued very hot with the temperatures reaching 38 degrees, and most of the carp recovering from their spawn, but still some spawning near the fence. Not much feeding going on, although lots of activity noted. We think the larger carp are doing what comes naturally to them in the wild, and feeding on the lake's abundance of bloodworm and other naturals. So, again, a very slow week with 11 Carp in all totaling 392 lb's, and an average weight of 36lb. Lakes in the area reporting much the same happening. Lower averages at the moment with more of the stockies putting in an appearance. One up for the women anglers though, with Shirley Smith catching Battler, who's weight was down a little since last caught....- 50lb 5oz - Shirley Smith...- 44lb 3oz - Steve Pirrazzo, 44lb - John Pirrazzo....- Also - 36lb 15oz, 35lb 13oz Common, 34lb 10oz, 34lb 6oz...- And - 29lb 7oz, 28lb 10oz, 28lb, 26lb 2oz.
